Last December, Northern Lights Performing Arts Pavilion rocked as the Wild Strawberries took to the stage. Throughout the concert, the entire audience was on their feet as they enjoyed toe-tapping beats and memorable songs like "Life-Sized Marilyn Monroe". Tickets were only $10.00, and the entire audience definitely got their money's worth.
The Wild Strawberries began as a husband-wife team from Toronto, and has grown progressively since then. They have participated in Lilith Fair (the festival of women's music started by Sarah McLachlan) three times, and even appeared on "Women & Songs 3". They have made six records, which are all available through their website, mail order, or at your local record store. But there were so many of us that bought them at the concert that you may just be able to borrow a copy of almost any of the CD's from that girl who sits beside you in English class.....
The concert was provided by special arragement with Mr. Longo and the SAC, possibly because the lead singer of the band is Mr. Longo's sister-in-law. ;) It was the second time that the band had appeared in Haliburton, although they commented that they like the venue a lot more now (last time they played in the old gym).
The entire band was available afterwards to sign autographs and sell CD's and tee shirts. Many people went home with personalized shirts signed by every single member of the band!
The Wild Strawberries have their very own website, with links to a mailing list and an online store where they sell their CD's. You can find that site here.
